WATCH: Female Truck Series driver Jennifer Jo Cobb Suffers Late Wreck as Tire Gives In

The NASCAR Gander RV & Outdoors Truck Series race at World Wide Technology Raceway on Sunday was a rather quiet race in the first two stages. The final stage, however, saw a series of incidents occur. Heavy Contact took place between drivers and cars started getting wrecked soon as the final stage started. Veteran female driver Jennifer Jo Cobb was also caught up in the action.

How the race turned bad for Jennifer Jo Cobb

A incident between Todd Gilliland and Sheldon Creed took place with just under 40 laps to go, that finished race leader Gilliland’s chances of winning. That brought out the caution. Just when things started again as Mayer took the lead from Creed, Jennifer Jo Cobb’s No. 10 car wrecked and that brought out another caution.

Just as she was approaching a turn on Lap 126 of the 160-lap race, her right front tire gave in. That sent her into the wall and spoiled her race. Cobb finished in 31st place, as a result.

The incident involving Gilliland and Creed that brought out the earlier caution, snatched the lead from Gilliland. Creed approached aggressively and collided with Gilliland, sending him into the wall.

Creed won Sunday’s race, beating Brett Moffitt by just .881 seconds. Austin Hill, who leads the championship standings, finished third. 17-year old Sam Mayer and Stewart Friesen finished in fourth and fifth place respectively.

‘Milestone woman’ Cobb

Jennifer Jo Cobb has not had a good season, but no one can take away a major milestone she achieved recently. A couple of weeks ago, Cobb completed 200 career Truck Series starts. She is a driver-owner for Jennifer Jo Cobb Racing. Her rookie year in the Truck Series was 2010 and Cobb has one top-10 finish in her career. She also made appearances in the Xfinity Series in the past.

She is currently 30th in the Truck Series standings for the 2020 season.

She recently expressed that despite having a top-10 finish, her best memory on the race track is the race at Talladega Superspeedway in 2018. She finished 11th in that race, but led on the restart with just 30 laps to go. She led three laps on that day.
