Los Angeles Lakers Legend Magic Johnson Thinks the 2020 Title is the Hardest They’ve Ever Won
For a long time, the Boston Celtics remained the most decorated team in the NBA with 17 championships. But on Sunday, LeBron James and Anthony Davis led the Los Angeles Lakers to a record-equalling victory. Magic Johnson, one of the men behind the Lakers’ towering legacy has called this win the “hardest” ever.
Magic Johnson has been a Laker all his life, and he led them to five titles as a player. He’s a legendary figure in the franchise’s history, and the 61-year-old is truly delighted with this victory.
Following the Lakers’ historic victory, Magic Johnson spoke about his immediate feelings on the team’s triumph. The Lakers stood strong in the bubble and overcame all obstacles in a difficult environment.
“And give these guys credit. I think this is … probably the hardest championship out of the 17 the Lakers organization has ever won,” Magic said.

The Los Angeles Lakers looked to be strong contenders right from the start of the season. After a disappointing 2018-19 campaign, the team brought in Anthony Davis and signed other free agents such as Dwight Howard and Danny Green.
General Manager Rob Pelinka certainly had a lot to do with the team’s success this season. The 50-year-old has made a lot of contributions both on and off the court, which has helped the team clinch this championship.
“Give the Lakers GM Rob Pelinka a lot of credit for putting together an championship roster,” Magic wrote on twitter. The Laker legend also spoke about how Pelinka called him up amid the wild celebration in the team’s camp.
“Rob Pelinka really made me feel good tonight reaching out after the Lakers won the NBA Championship,” he added. “It means the world to me because I know he’s in the middle of celebrating with all of the Lakers players, coaches, and Jeanie Buss he didn’t have to!”
