“Gotta Worry About Us Too”: Denver Nuggets Stars Send Out Stern Warning to Los Angeles Lakers

The Denver Nuggets created history last night. They became the first team in NBA history to win two consecutive series after being down 3-1. With this win, they have now reached the Conference finals for the first time since 2009.

During the post-game interview, Nuggets stars Jamal Murray and Nikola Jokic were asked about the prospect of facing Anthony Davis and LeBron James and how they matched up against them. Murray immediately said, “They gotta worry about us too.” Then Jokic elaborated, “We’re not gonna go in there and think about them. It’s gonna be a long night for us. We just need to go out there with effort, and having fun. It’s simple for us.”

Interestingly, during that 2009 matchup, they were up against the Lakers, who were led by Kobe Bryant. They ended up losing 2-4 but now they have the chance to get their revenge.

Never count out the Denver Nuggets

After they went down 1-3 to the Utah Jazz, everyone thought it was over for them. But they were focused on their goal and gave their best on the court to complete the comeback. They were stronger on paper than the Jazz so they were favorites from the start.

But in the series against the Clippers, the Nuggets came in as the underdogs with a point to prove. They were knocked out by the Blazers in this stage last year, so their desire to do better must have been at an all-time high.

The Nuggets went down 1-3 again this time, but they were on a mission. After fighting and forcing a Game 7, Jokic and Murray came out all guns blazing to take down the title favorite Clippers and send them home. Jokic set multiple records during the game, and Murray showed yet again what a scoring machine he was.

Facing the Lakers is not an easy task. They made light work of the Blazers and Rockets and beat them both 4-1. They are the most in-form team in the West, so the Nuggets will have to work even harder. But the Nuggets have proved that they enjoy a challenge. So this is a mouth-watering matchup and fans are in for a treat.
