“Cannot Deprive Us of Seeing Him”: Feliciano Lopez Wants Rafael Nadal to Lift His 13th French Open Title
World No.2 Rafael Nadal recently defeated Jannik Sinner in straight sets in the quarters of the French Open 2020. With this, he cemented his place in the semis of the Roland Garros for the 13th time. Experts and critics are both praising Nadal for his exceptional and dominant gameplay. He is yet to lose a set yet in the tournament.
The latest person to appreciate the 12-time French Open winner is another Spanish player, Feliciano Lopez.
“Rafael Nadal is already in the semis of Roland Garros and without losing 1 set. I hope this very different RG cannot deprive us of seeing him lifting the Musketeers’ Cup on Sunday,” wrote the 39-year-old Spaniard on Twitter.

Rafa is surely an inspiration, not only for youngsters but for contemporary players as well. It was his 100th match at the French Open, where he boasts a win percentage of 98%, losing just 2 matches so far. Earlier, Nadal had admitted that he was beatable on clay, but it will get tougher to stop him as the tournament progressed.

Most of the experts thought that it would be really difficult for attacking players like Nadal at the French Open 2020 due to the slower conditions. But so far, Nadal has not given the slightest of hints that he is uncomfortable in these conditions. He has certainly adapted well to them.
“His adaptability is amazing. Yesterday he played his 100th match in Roland Garros, little more to add. Come on Rafa!” exclaimed Lopez with a lot of joy.
Rafael Nadal will now face Diego Schwartzman in the semi-finals of the French Open 2020. He is the same player who had knocked Rafa out of the Italian Open 2020 and also defeated US Open 2020 winner Dominic Thiem in the quarters of the tournament. It is surely not going to be a cake-walk for Nadal.
It is, however, a golden opportunity for Nadal to equalize Roger Federer‘s record of winning 20 Grand Slam titles. He can do it if he wins the French Open 2020 title. However, even if he dispatched Schwartzman, he is most likely to face World No.1 Novak Djokovic in the final who remains undefeated so far in 2020.
